Breathing with NLP Rapport
In NLP we recognise that breathing is the single most important component of physiology to work with when matching and mirroring (NLP Practitioner subject) because it is unconscious in the other person and the easiest to notice.
Watch the shoulders, the chest, the stomach. Shoulders are your best bet, especially when observing a female! Then copy the breathing rate to get in rapport. We discuss ways of getting in rapport and how to do it in our NLP training courses.
An example is that Milton Erickson, who was a model used by Bandler and Grinder in developing NLP, used to be able to pick up someones breathing rate by observing the pulse rate in their ankles. How is that for acute sensory awareness (sensory acuity)!
