Chaining Anchors – NLP Anchoring
Sequential process of moving to a significantly different state.
Useful when practicing NLP for when a client has a significant difference between their present state and the desired state. Each state builds on the one before until the desired state is reached.
Process:
- Chose two widely separate steps, involving a ‘stuck’ present state and a desired state.
- The first intermediate step is an ‘away from’, to take the person out of the stuck state.
- The next intermediate step should take the client ‘towards’ the end state.
- No more than five steps.
- Steps not too far apart.
- Should be ecological.
- Should not be the strategy currently run.
