I know that by now, you have already realised (1 mind read) that it’s (2 lost performative) highly beneficial for you (3 presupposition) to firstly, follow the recommended outline of the course, in order to (4 cause and effect) learn in a more or less (5 comparative deletion) structured and efficient way, and, secondly, do your exercises, because, as we all know, practise makes one perfect (6 lack of referential index), and you do want to succeed. Don’t you (7 tag question)?
And while I am doing this exercise, I am noticing that you ARE listening to me and focusing on everything I have to say (8 pace current experience), which means that (9 complex equivalence) you DO understand the importance of your active participation in this learning process. You know that all the things you learn now (10 – universal quantifier) will certainly contribute to the future successes in your personal and professional life.
The reason why I chose to study NLP was I thought if I did then I could help my clients better (3. Cause & Effect) and it’s always a good idea to learn new techniques (2. Lost Performative) and that means I could be more effective with my clients (4. Complex Equivalence). I believe that everyone can focus on what they want (6. Universal Quantifier) and that we can all learn from any course if we put our minds to it and can just concentrate (7. Modal Operator). I am hoping through this training that I can learn new techniques which can help me communicate better with others (8. Nominalisation) and that others can benefit from my learnings also (11. Lack of Referential Index).
As I have progressed through the course, it has provided me with more insight and better understanding (8. Nominalisation) and more and more I have been using the Swish Pattern on some of my clients (12. Comparative Deletion) to help them change any unwanted behaviours. With the swish pattern, I have learned the importance of asking clients if they prefer to keep their eyes open or if they prefer to close them (15. Conversational Postulate). I really think I could make a good NLP Practitioner (5. Presupposition) and I know that clients will enjoy working with me and feel happier with the outcome of the techniques used (1.Mind Read)
I guess my NLP trainer, Anthony, must be wondering (Mind read) what I feel I have gained so far, from doing this course. One of the main things I was expecting (Presupposition) to learn ,were coping mechanisms which would improve my life. I then wanted to be able to use them to help others. I did realize very quickly that if I applied these techniques it would change my life (Cause and effect). The differences in me, before and after the course(Comparitive deletions) really are a joy to experience. My new self awareness has been a revelation(Nominalization), we have allowed our self to absorb the course in our own way (Unspecified verb),at our own pace.
A question I have asked myself impatiently is ..when will I be able to do this as a career (Conversational postulate)? We so want to be able to help as many people as possible and really feel everyone(Universal quantifier), from all walks of life, whatever their problems, could benefit so much from NLP.
As I sit and type,I am so full of hope (Pacing current experience) that I can and will do this.To serve people, and to do so by improving their lives by showing them how to be happy and successful, is what life should be about ,don’t you think? (tag question)
You rightly question the success level of your course (1.presupposition), and this is a good thing(2.lost performative), because it will give me the chance to elaborate on the impact of your teachings on my work (3.cause and effect/nominalisation).
Videos, generally, is the preferred mode of learning in the 21st century (4.universal quantifier), although auditory people may prefer podcasts, don’t they? (5.tag question)
The handbook provided me with a deeper understanding and contextualised the audio visual material in an effective manner (6.nominalisation).
That means that you have covered all aspects of the learning experience (7.complex equivalence).
And it is more or less the right thing (8.comparative deletion).
You are probably sitting at your desk, in front of the computer, reading this document with extreme boredom (9.pace current experience), do you not? (10. tag question)
I remember last year while I was teaching in school, a parent of a pupil who was getting stressed about her exams came and talked to me, he said “my friend says learning ways to be positive would help people to better prepare for exams” (1 extended quote).
One can (2 lack of referential index) really make a difference by enhancing the communication and the preparation (3 nomalisation). If you spend time on personal development then communication should improve (4 cause and effects) and you can (5 unspecified verb) can’t you? (6 question tags).
As you practise communication skills (7 pace current experience) sooner or later (8 comparative deletion) you are learning different ways (9 presupposition) to be prepared and you can do this during the day or in the evening (10 double blind). It is a good thing (11 lost performative) that you can learn (12 model operator).
