When you are sitting at your desk reading a bunch of emails, pondering the hundred or so things that you need to do today and trying to ignore the multitude of things that are demanding your attention it is sometimes worth reminding yourself that you were put on this planet for a good reason. We have all been offered the opportunity to contribute positively towards the evolution of life on earth, and we have all been blessed with a mind and body that is naturally oriented towards growth. What we do with our opportunity is down to us as individuals.

Every day when you wake up you have a choice, you can choose to concentrate on all of the things that you haven’t done with your life yet, you can choose to focus on everything that you do not want to do in your day but that you feel compelled to do, or you can see your day as an opportunity for you to work towards your greater destiny, as an opportunity for you to contribute towards the growth and happiness of others, as an opportunity for you to put the steps in place for you to really grow towards your potential.

Busy being busy?

We are all guilty from time to time of being busy being busy. You know what I mean, don’t you? Sometimes I sit down at my desk with an hour or so to spare in the middle of a busy day and I think “Right, what can I do in this hour that will really make a difference?”……and then I look at my email Inbox and see an update from LinkedIn, and I click on one of the links and before I know it half an hour has passed and my good intention is dust!

We live in a world of distraction, there are so many things these days that are looking to grab our attention and steal the best hours of our best days. The thing is that we have to make a conscious choice to direct our thoughts and our focus where we want them otherwise we end up living our life singing to someone else’s tune.

I think that deep down, you know the song that you were meant to sing. Deep down you know that making a positive difference in this world is within your grasp, you are already doing that in your best moments, you know how it would feel to be moving forward towards what you want to achieve in the long run. Sometimes though we all need a push in the right direction, we all need reminding of what is important, and we all need a spark to fire us up into action.
